MORE than 100 homebuyers are lining up to secure flats in this new development site in Glasgow.

Months before an advertising drive and site plans are launched, offers have been flooding in from potential buyers eager to snap up one of 24 luxury apartments.

Montgomery Developments, the developer that plans to introduce the five-storey building, including basement parking and two penthouses, has been forced to turn away buyers trying to secure deposits for the flats by brandishing cheques.

The £400,000 three-bedroom flats will be the last chance for buyers to secure a new-build property in Glasgows most prestigous area. Property experts said the unprecedented interest was due to the exclusiveness of the area and Glasgow’s buoyant property market.

James Montgomery, the firms managing director, said interest in the flats in the building, by Russell & Bryce Design Architects, designers of Harvey Nichols’ Scottish store, had been overwhelming.
